Spiders Taken Down By Penn State

Richmond was downed by Penn State, 3-0, Sunday afternoon in the final game of the Penn State Invitational.
Richmond kept Penn State scoreless in the first half, despite 17 first-half Nittany Lion shots. Melissa Pacheco had a stellar first-half with seven saves, and ended the game with a game-high 11 keeps.
Penn State got on the board in the 52nd minute off a shot to the lower right corner of the goal off a cross pass. The Nittany Lions struck a minute later to go ahead off a similar cross pass to the right side. Penn State would add one more to end the game.
Leigh Anne Baxter, Crystal Koczot and Becca Wann each notched a shot.
Richmond returns to Robins Stadium Thursday, Sept. 1 to host in-state rival Old Dominion at 7:30 p.m.
