Spiders Host Liberty Tonight At Robins Stadium

Fresh off a 2-0 win over No. 21 William & Mary, the Spiders host Liberty Sunday at 6 p.m. at Robins Stadium.
Richmond defeated No. 21 William & Mary, 2-0, Thursday night thanks to Wann's two tallies. The reigning A-10 Player of the Week added the first score two minutes into the contest, after heading in a ball from a perfectly-placed corner kick by Liza Koch. Wann would add another in the 84th minute, after scoring off a throw-in.
Wann has scored five goals in the past three games, as she added her first collegiate hat trick to garner the A-10 Player of the Week award. Wann leads Spider scoring with five goals and has two assists to register for 12 points. Wann has already taken 33 shots on the year.
Liberty comes into the contest 1-2-1, after getting its first win of the season over Valparaiso last week. The two teams have both played Virginia and Longwood and came away with the same result. (Loss to the Cavaliers, tie with the Lancers). The Lady Flames have had balancing scoring this season, with five players tallying a score. Aimee Luurtsema leads the point category with seven, as she has a score and two assists.
The Spiders hit the road for seven consecutive road contests before returning to Robins Stadium Oct. 14.
Richmond participates in the UNC-Wilmington Invitational this weekend with a Friday match-up against Western Carolina and concludes action with North Florida Sunday.
