Team Notes
- Tonight's win is Richmond's first when playing under the lights at Robins Stadium and marks its second straight night-game victory. The team has now prevailed in a pair of night games in three of the last five seasons.
- The Spiders are now 6-1 overall in their second season playing at Robins Stadium (5-1 in 2010).
- Richmond has now won six consecutive home-openers dating back to 2006.
- With the win, the Spiders move to 1-0 all-time against Wagner and have now won their last seven meetings versus a first-time opponent.
- Richmond is 2-0 for the first time since 2009 when the team opened the season 8-0.
- The Spiders climb to 42-12 (since 2007) when playing as a ranked team in the Sports Network Poll.
- Since the start of the 2005 season, Richmond has struck for the first points in 49 of its 79 games and is 41-8 when doing so (2-0 this season).
- Richmond is 47-4 since the start of 2004 when leading at the half (2-0 this season).
- The Spiders have not lost a non-conference FCS contest in the regular season since 2005 and are a spotless 13-0 since then. The team is 11-3 in non-conference regular-season play dating back to 2007.
- Richmond is a perfect 5-0 over the past two seasons when scoring 20+ points and 34-5 when doing so since 2007.
Player Notes
- Aaron Corp's 56-yard pass to Ben Edwards in the first quarter marked a new career-long for the senior. Edwards' 56-yard reception was also a career long.
- Corp's 236 yards passing is a new career high, surpassing his previous best of 207 yards in the Spiders' win over Elon last season -- that is also the last time a Spider QB had surpassed the 200-yard passing mark
- With his six receptions on the night, Tre Gray moved up three places to third all-time at Richmond with 162 career receptions. Gray also rose two spots to fourth in the program record books with 2,128 receiving yards.
- Colin Pehanick's second-quarter interception marked the third of his career.
