Men's Tennis Earns Two Singles Titles at WFU Tourney

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C- The Spider men's tennis team ended play at the Wake Forest Invitational with Aaron Wicker and Dylan Trent earning single's titles on Sunday.

Aaron Wicker took Davidson's Kevin Moore to three sets, winning 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the D1 Single's Championship. Teammate Dylan Trent followed suit in the D2 Singles Final defeating Old Dominion's Tim Schweig 6-4, 6-1.

Will Welte went 2-1 on the weekend and earned fifth place in the D1 bracket. Jesse Feder and Paul Nahon both went 2-1 in the C Singles bracket. Feder had impressive wins over Davidson's Robert Lightbourn 6,0, 6-3 and Carolina's Taylor Meyer 6-3, 6-3.

In double's action Jesse Feder and Paul Nahon III took third place in the B Double's bracket after defeating UNC-Greensboro's Smith/Murray 8-4. The pair had strong wins with an 8-4 victory over Davidson's Mark/Moore in the opening round and a 9-7 victory in the quarterfinals,

Ethan Dunbar and Sebastien Fauchet were 3-1 on the weekend in the A Double's bracket. The duo lost in the 13^th place final to Dougherty/Phillips 8-3.

The Spider's will be back in action at the ITA Regional Tournament in Charlottesville, Virginia on October 19.
