Spiders Begin Play At Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team got off to a solid start at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Sunday in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The Spiders carded a first round 306 (+18) in the first round, while the second round was unable to be completed due to darkness.
Tracy Martin continued her fantastic play of late, shooting a first round 72 (E) to lead the Spiders. Fellow senior Courtney Rousse was able to get both her rounds completed, shooting back-to-back scores of 75 (+3).
Junior Lauren Conder was also able to get her two rounds in on Monday, carding scores of 79-77 to end the day with a total of 156 (+12). Classmate Krystin Schwarze shot a first round 80 (+8), while senior Caroline Lovette totaled an 81 (+9) in her first 18 holes.
The Richmond Spiders will look to make a charge up the leaderboard on Monday morning when the team will complete its second round and then play the third and final round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate.
