11/19/2012 | Men's Basketball
Following a holiday hiatus, The Spider Sportsline with men's basketball coach Chris Mooney returns to Outback Steakhouse, 7917 W. Broad Street, Monday, Jan. 7 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The weekly radio show airs live on ESPN 950, RichmondSpiders.com and on the Spider Mobile apps available on iPhone, iPad and Android.
Two players who recently enjoyed career games will be Coach Mooney's special player guests. Sophomore guard Kendall Anthony poured in 31 points against Air Force, including seven three pointers, while redshirt-freshman Trey Davis, a Richmond native, delivered a 12-point performance in the Davidson game.
Fans, alums and corporate partners are encouraged to attend, enjoy Outback's food and beverage menu, and talk Spider and college basketball. Listeners can call-in during the program at 804-345-0950 or 233-7680. Emails can be sent anytime to spidersportsline@richmond.edu and will be read on-the-air.
The Spiders are 10-5 heading into Atlantic 10 play, which begins Wednesday at the Robins Center with a 7 p.m. contest against Rhode Island. Coach Mooney and host Bob Black will review the non-conference portion of the Spiders' schedule and offer a preview of upcoming action in the rugged A-10.
Outback Steakhouse, 7917 W. Broad Street, is the home of The Spider Sportsline throughout the football and basketball seasons. Women's basketball coach Michael Shafer, and players from both the men's and women's teams, will join Coach Mooney and host Bob Black throughout the season.
Outback is open every day beginning at 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner. Spider Sportsline specials will be available during the show each week.
