Men's Basketball Hosts Wake Forest Saturday At 6 P.M.

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The Richmond men's basketball team looks for its third-straight win over ACC foe Wake Forest on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Bank of America Challenge at the Robins Center.
The Spiders enter the game 5-2 on the season, while Wake Forest comes to the Robins Center at 3-3.
THE LATEST
• Richmond is looking for its third-straight win over Wake Forest and second-straight victory over the Demon Deacons in the Robins Center. The Spiders led by 23 points in the second half of a 70-62 victory over Wake Forest in Winston-Salem last season and defeated the Demon Deacons 90-74 two years ago in the Robins Center. The Spiders are 11-7 in their last 18 games against BCS conference teams and Chris Mooney has 16 wins over BCS conference teams in 9 years as a D-I head coach, including 14 in 8 seasons at Richmond. The Spiders have defeated a team from all 6 BCS conferences in Mooney's tenure, including multiple wins against the Big East (5), SEC (3) and ACC (3).
• Richmond is 45-8 in its last 53 home games and 32-4 in the last 36 non-conference home games dating back to the 2007-08 season.
• Darien Brothers has connected on four three-pointers in each of the last two games, connecting on 8-of-11 treys in the two contests. He now has 138 career 3-pointers, 10 shy of cracking Richmond's all-time career top-10 list.
• Sophomore Kendall Anthony, the 2012 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, is second on the team in scoring at 15.1 points per game and already has 522 career points just seven games into his second season. Anthony, who scored the third most points of a Spider freshman in school history (416), had 21 points in the win at Wake Forest last season. He had a career-high 24 points in the win over Wofford last week.
• The Spiders won a thriller over William & Mary on Wednesday, erasing a 3-point deficit with under a minute to play in regulation and a 5-point deficit in the first overtime. Darien Brothers led five Spiders in double-figures with 20 points. Derrick Williams had his second double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds and Kendall Anthony had 15 points. Greg Robbins had 14 points and Cedrick Lindsay had 12 points, six rebounds and six assists in his return after missing two games with a concussion.
• The Spiders are averaging 9.8 steals per game, forcing 17.0 turnovers per game and scoring 22.3 points per game off turnovers.
