Spiders Stopped By Billikens In Gateway City

ST. LOUIS - Junior Darien Brothers scored a game-high 19 points, but Richmond was topped, 64-50, by a surging Saint Louis squad on Wednesday at the Billikens' Chaifetz Arena.
Brothers went 7-for-13 from the field, including a 5-for-5 clip at the line, to lead the Spiders on Wednesday. Junior Greg Robbins and sophomore Derrick Williams came up just shy of double-figures with seven points apiece.
Sophomore Cedrick Lindsay brought down a team-high six boards to go with a pair of assists, while senior Darrius Garrett aided the cause with three blocks.
Richmond (13-14, 4-8 A-10) shot 18-for-51 (35.3%) from the floor and 13-for-17 (76.5%) at the stripe. The Spiders tallied 24 points in the paint and finished with 10 points off the Billikens' 13 turnovers.
SLU (21-5, 9-3 A-10) finished the night shooting 22-for-45 (48.9%) and 5-for-12 (41.7%) from beyond the arc. Junior Cody Ellis led three Billikens in double-figures with 14 points on a 6-for-11 night from the field. Classmate Kwamain Mitchell poured in 11 points and sophomore Mike McCall, Jr., added 11 tallies with junior Cory Remekun pacing the Bills with seven boards.
Richmond returns to the friendly confines of the Robins Center on Saturday when it hosts Charlotte at 6 p.m.
