NFL Combine Conversation with Aaron Corp
02/28/2012 | Football
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - This past weekend, former Richmond quarterback Aaron Corp participated at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. At the Combine, Corp participated in drills, interviewed with NFL teams, and underwent medical tests.
After his weekend at the NFL Combine, Corp sat down with RichmondSpiders.com and talked about what his experience was like and what lies ahead in the near future for the former Spider standout.
Richomd Spiders.com: What was your first
reaction when you were invited to the NFL Combine?
Aaron Corp: I was extremely excited. I was not sure if I was going to
get the invite, but when I did I was thrilled.
How did your
experience at Richmond help you prepare for the next step?
Many coaches that I spoke to seemed to be impressed with my
knowledge of the type of offenses that are run in the NFL. That experience is
invaluable to taking the next step. Richmond definitely helped me prepare for
the NFL.
What kind of
preparation did you do for the Combine?
I was working out six days a week, twice a day in New Jersey
at TEST Football Academy. My workouts consisted of running, throwing, and
lifting.
What were your
personal goals at the Combine?
I did not have any specific goals as far as numbers to
attain, but I just wanted to show that I can play at the next level and I think
I accomplished that.
Besides the drills,
what else did you have to do at the Combine?
The most extensive part was the medical exam. I spent a
whole day dedicated to tests and an examination. Much of my time was also spent
interviewing with different teams.
How many teams did
you meet at the Combine?
I probably met with 20 to 25 teams over the weekend.
What was your
favorite part of the Combine experience?
Competing in all the drills. After two full days of tests and interviews,
it was almost a relief to do something physical.
Now that the Combine
is done, what is next for you leading up to the NFL Draft?
I will be participating in Richmond's Pro Day on March 16. I
will be in Richmond next week to prepare for that .
