Miller Paces Richmond at Irish Creek Collegiate

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The University of Richmond Spiders men's golf team carded rounds of 295-296 to place 12th with a total score of 591 (+23) after the first two rounds at the Irish Creek Collegiate on Saturday. The No. 21-ranked Kent State flashes lead the 13-team field with a score of 553 (-15).
Leading the way for the Spiders on Saturday was senior Brad Miller, who shot rounds of 70-74 to tie for 26th place with a score of 144 (+2). Miller was very consistent in his stellar first round, totaling three birdies and just two bogeys to go with 13 pars on the round.
Junior Nick Austin also got off to a good start at the Irish Creek Collegiate, shooting rounds of 74-73 to tie for 39th with a total of 147 (+5). Finishing just one stroke behind him on the first day was classmate Daniel Walker. Walker sits in a tie for 44th with a score of 148 (+6).
A pair of freshmen rounded out Richmond's effort in the first two rounds. Colin McDade is tied for 6oth with a score of 152 (+10) while Danny Pizetoski is tied for 73rd with a total of 160 (+18).
The Richmond Spiders men's golf team will wrap up play at the Irish Creek Collegiate on Sunday when teams play the third and final round. Live stats for the final round can be found at RichmondSpiders.com.
