Ashley Riefner Named State Player Of The Year

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Incoming freshman Ashley Riefner was named the Virginia State Player of the Year. Riefner will be a freshman for the Spiders this fall.
The Atlee High School product was recently named the Central Region Player of the Year after leading the Raiders with 35 assists and 20 goals en route to a 19-1 record.
Riefner is two-time Capital District Player of the Year, two-time First Team All-Central Region honoree and was selected as an AAA All-State first team selection in 2011. In addition, Riefner was selected to play in the VHSCA All-Star game in July 2012.
Riefner is the fourth Spider recruit to earn the Virginia State Player of the Year accolade, joining All Americans Jaclyn Raveia, Liana Wooten and Becca Wann.
