Pinder, Rousse Named Scholar All-Americans

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - After posting terrific seasons on the course, University of Richmond Spiders women's golfers Danielle Pinder and Courtney Rousse were named All-American Scholar recipients by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) this month.
With the honor, Pinder and Rousse become the first duo to earn the accolade in the same season in school history. Prior to this season, Lauren Folgosa was a three-time NGCA All-America Scholar selection from 2007-09. Elizabeth Cushing was also honored in 2003.
Both Pinder and Rousse had solid campaigns for the Spiders this past season. Rousse played in seven events for Richmond, posting a stroke average of 79.52 to go with two top-20 finishes. Pinder saw action in six tournaments for the Spiders, posting a stroke average of 80.33 with one top-10 and two top-20's.
The National Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. Today, the NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
