Lescalleet, Young Named 2012 Captains

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Fifth-year seniors Kristin Lescalleet and Andrea Young were named captains of the 2012 soccer squad.
Lescalleet, a senior from Richmond, Va. returns to anchor the Spider offense. Lescalleet is a two-time A-10 All Conference honoree and started 18 games last season. Lescalleet also was named to the UNCW Invitational All-Tournament team. Lescalleet has appeared in 52 games, earning 50 starts.
Young, a senior goalkeeper from Trumbull, Conn., played in nine games last season, recording 36 saves, seven of which came against Virginia. Young posted a 6-1-2 record last season and had five shutouts.
Richmond was tabbed to finish second in the A-10 in voting conducted by the league's head coaches last week. Richmond returns six starters and 20 letterwinners from last year's 13-5-3 squad.
The Spiders open their 2012 slate at the Virginia Tech Invitational this weekend.
