Men's Tennis Wraps Up Tournament At Elon

The Spider Men's Tennis team wrapped up play at the Elon Fall Invitational on Sunday.
"This weekend was a good step in the right direction," said head coach Ben Johnson. "We made some good adjustments from last week and our results showed."
Sophomore Paul Nahon (Springfield, Mo. / Glendale High School) won the B2 single's flight with 6-2, 7-5 win in the finals round against Coastal Carolina's Matias Pasquale. Freshman Will Welte (Kansas City, Mo./ Pembroke High School) was 3-1 on the weekend, earning a consolation victory in the C1 single's flight. Welte defeated Longwood's Steed Johnson in the finals match 6-4, 6-4. Redshirt sophomore Ethan Dunbar (Medina, Ohio. / Cloverleaf High School) and senior Sebastien Fauchet (Rochester, N.Y./ Harley School) went 1-2 in single's play.
In double's action Dunbar and Fauchet were 1-1 for the weekend. Dunbar and Fauchet defeated Elon's Kaufman/Sablik 8-5 in the opening A2 double's flight match. The pair fell to James Madison's Pool/Stirling 8-5 in the semifinals.
Welte and Nahon were 2-1 in C1 double's action, losing in the final round to Old Dominion's Rodriquez and Glavin in a tight 9-8 match.
The team is back in action on October 5 when they travel to Charlottesville, Va. for the UVA Fall Classic.
