Men's Basketball Visits La Salle Saturday At 2 PM

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond hits the road for two games beginning with a visit to La Salle on Saturday at 2 p.m.

- Richmond looks to improve to 8-0 in Atlantic 10 road openers under Chris Mooney when the Spiders travel to La Salle Saturday. Two of those victories in the first conference road game came against the Explorers in Tom Gola Arena. Richmond defeated La Salle 75-74 in triple overtime on Jan. 9, 2008 and took down the Explorers 87-68 on Jan. 8, 2011.
- The Spiders had won four-straight against La Salle, including the regular-season meeting in the Robins Center last year, before suffering a season-ending loss to the Explorers in the First Round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament last March at Tom Gola Arena. The Spiders have won three of the last four and four of the last six at Gola Arena.
- The Spiders will play without junior forward Derrick Williams for the third-straight game. Williams sprained his ankle in the first half of the loss to Davidson and will be out at least four more weeks. Richmond is 2-0 without Williams in the lineup, despite playing with only one front court player - Greg Robbins - who has collegiate experience before this season.
- Darien Brothers leads the entire nation in three-point percentage (.536) and he leads the Atlantic 10 and is 24th in the nation in three-pointers made per game (2.8). Brothers is third on Richmond's all-time career list for three-point percentage (.416) and is eighth on the career list for three-pointers with 166. He is fifth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring (15.6 ppg) and is 36th on UR's all-time scoring list, needing 15 points to tie Scott Stapleton (1,059) for 35th, 16 points to tie Jeff Pehl (1,060) for 34th and 18 points to tie Bill Flye (1,062) for 33rd.
- The Spiders are third in A-10 wins over the last 6 seasons with 52, behind only Xavier (66) and Temple (63). Saint Louis is fourth with 45. Richmond is 36-16 in its last 52 Atlantic 10 regular-season games and 41-17 in its last 58 games vs. Atlantic 10 teams.
- Richmond leads the A-10 and is 15th in the nation in three-point percentage (.390). The Spiders are second in the conference and 17th in the country in three-pointers per game (8.4) and are third in the A-10 in FG pct (45.8).
- Two freshmen forwards stepped up in Derrick Williams' absence against URI. Deion Taylor scored a career-high 11 points and Alonzo Nelson-Ododa had six points, six boards, five blocks and three assists.
