Track & Field Continues Indoor Campaign At Mason

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va.- The indoor track & field team travels up I-95 to George Mason for the Patriot Games on Friday and Saturday.
Over 25 schools are expected to participate including VCU, William & Mary, and University of Maryland.
Senior Meghan Hart will kick off the meet on Friday when she competes in the Pentathlon. Last season Hart broke the school record in the pentathlon just shy of the 3200 point mark. The Patriot Games is the first time she will compete in the event this season.
Freshmen Mary Allen is slated to compete in the 200m and the 400m this weekend. Allen broke the school's 300m record at the Virginia Tech Invitational last weekend with a time of 40.01. Fellow freshman Jade Gregory is slated to compete both the 200m and 400m as well.
Sophomore Amber Young will compete in the 500m and 60m hurdles. Young also, broke the 300m record last weekend at the Virginia Tech Invite and boasts the top time this season in the 60 meter hurdle for the Spiders.
In distance events Tara Hanley and Stephanie Paradis are slated to compete in the 3000m and freshmen Kelly Bailey will compete in the mile for the first time this season.
On the men's side, Matthew Groff, Justin Keefe, and Jason Skipper are scheduled to compete in the 1000m. The trio competed in the 1000 meter last weekend. Groff took eighth place overall with a time of 2:29.45
The three will join freshmen Thomas Smail in the distance medley relay.
Chris York and Adam Owens will compete in the 3000m. The Patriot Games will be the first indoor meet for York and Owens this season.
