Spiders Travel To George Mason Saturday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The Richmond women's soccer team travels to Fairfax for a 7 p.m. game against George Mason Saturday.

Richmond Lately
The Spiders downed the Bonnies, 2-1, Saturday at Robins Stadium. Junior Sam Cicconi scored her first career goal, while Jensen Smith added the insurance score to secure the victory for the Spiders. Cicconi's goal came in the 40th minute by way of a header off a cross pass from Darian Podmajersky. Smith added the game-winning goal in the 64th minute off a rebound shot from Shannon Colligan. The Spiders improved to 4-7-2, 1-2-0 with the win. Richmond outshot the Bonnies, 21-10, led by Kristen Lybert's five attempts.
Scouting George Mason
George Mason comes into Saturday's game on a three-game win streak, with victories over Saint Louis, Rhode Island and Fordham. The Patriots blanked Fordham, 3-0, in their most recent win last Sunday. George Mason (6-7-1, 3-1-0) is led by Emma Starr's seven points (3g, 1a). Starr provided the game-winner in Mason's 1-0 overtime victory against Saint Louis Oct. 6. The Patriots are currently third in the A-10 standings. George Mason is 4-2 at home this season.
Last Time Out
George Mason beat the Spiders, 3-1, in last year's meeting. The two teams are playing each other for the first time as A-10 opponents.
