Spiders Host Duquesne For Senior Night Friday

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Winners of two-straight, the Richmond women's soccer team returns to Robins Stadium to host Duquesne Friday at 7:30 p.m. Five Spider seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to the start of the game.
Richmond Lately
The Spiders are coming off a thrilling 2-1 double-overtime victory over George Mason last Saturday. Sophomore Shannon Colligan provided the game-winner in the 109th minute off an Erin Layne pass to lift the Spiders to their second-straight win. Richmond improved to 2-2 in conference play, moving into a tie for sixth place in the league standings. Richmond started its streak with a 2-1 victory over St. Bonaventure Oct. 12 at Robins Stadium. Richmond hosts Duquesne and UMass this weekend in its final home games of the season. After the weekend, Richmond travels to VCU and George Washington to conclude its regular season. The top eight teams in the conference standings advance to the 2013 A-10 Tournament to be held at Sports Backers Stadium hosted by VCU Nov. 8-10.
Scouting Duquesne
The Dukes enter Friday's game with a 5-6-2-, 1-2-1 mark overall. Duquesne most recently battled GW to a scoreless draw last weekend. The Dukes are in 12th place in the A-10 standings and are looking for their first win since Oct. 5. Four players lead Duquesne with two goals apiece.
Last Time Out
The two teams last played each other Sept. 30, 2011 with the Dukes taking the 1-0 victory in Pittsburgh.
