Team Notes
- With the loss to No. 6/8 Towson, Richmond's record against ranked opponents dating back to the 2007 season is now 21-19.
- With DB Reggie Barnette's interception in the second quarter, Richmond extended its streak to 18-straight games with at least one interception. Over that stretch, Richmond has totaled 38 picks.
- The Spiders are now 44-8 since 2005 when scoring 30+ points (7-4 under Coach Rocco). This is the third game this season Richmond scored over 30 points.
- Towson's 48 points are the most points allowed by the Spiders since Dec. 7, 2007 when Richmond fell to No. 5 Appalachian State in Boone, N.C.
Player Notes
- QB Michael Strauss completed 28-of-38 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns, which bumps his career passing yards to 3, 511 that ranks him eighth all-time in Richmond's record book.
- WR Stephen Barnette jumped up to sixth place on Richmond's all-time career receiving yards list as his 148 performance upped his total to 2,060.
- Barnette's 148 receiving yards mark his fifth 100-yard plus game of his career and the third of the season.
- QB David Broadus' 6-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was his first career score.
- WR Rashad Ponder's touchdown catch in the second quarter marked his first career score.
- WR Shane Savage's touchdown reception in the first quarter was his first as a Richmond Spider. Savage had 16 touchdowns during his career at Cornell.
- LB Aaron Roane's fumble recovery in the fourth quarter was his first of his career as well as his first-career touchdown.
- FB Seth Fisher career day rushing for 44 yards off of eight attempts with a long of 13, setting career highs in all three categories.
- DB Justin Grant set a career high with 11 tackles on the day.
