Richmond In Seventh Place At Wendy's Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Richmond women's golf team placed seventh after the first day of competition at the Wendy's Invitational in Charleston, S.C.
Sophomore Jessica Lydia leads Spider totals with a 146 after two rounds. Lydia led Richmond with a one-under par (71) in the second round to place fourth overall heading into the last day of action.
Senior Lauren Conder carded a 73 (+1) to follow Lydia in the second round of play and is tied for eighth place. Senior Krystin Schwarze rounded out the top-3, carding a 79 (+7) in both rounds.
The Spiders return to the River Towne Country Club as defending champions, having secured the tournament title last fall. Graduated senior Tracy Martin was crowned the individual champion after shooting a 215 (-1).
The 13-team tournament concludes tomorrow.
