Join men's basketball coach Chris Mooney and his special guests, senior guard Cedrick Lindsay and senior forward Derrick Williams, Monday, Dec. 2, from 5:30-6:30pm for the season premiere of the Spider Sportsline at its new location, Flinn's Restaurant, 403 N. Ridge Road in the Tuckahoe Shopping Center – just a jump show away from the New Robins Center.
The live radio show can be heard on ESPN 950, RichmondSpiders.com and on the free Spider Mobile App available on iPad, iPhone and Android. Fans, alums and corporate partners are encouraged to attend, enjoy Flinn's food and beverage menu, and talk Spider and college basketball. LIndsay leads the Spiders in scoring at 17.8 ppg, and recently became the school's 42nd men's basketball 1,000 point scorer. Following his 14 point performance Saturday in the win over James Madison, Lindsay is now 38th on the all-time scoring list with 1,034 points. He has also dished out nine assists in each of the past two games, giving him 34 assists and only 14 turnovers in leading the Spiders to a 6-2 record.
Williams also nearly recorded a double-double in Saturday's triumph over JMU, registering 10 points and nine rebounds. He emphatically blocked three Dukes' shots, sparking the Spiders to a lead they never relinquished.
Flinn's Restaurant, offering affordable dining in a family-friendly atmosphere, is the home of the Spider Sportsline throughout the basketball season. On Monday nights, Flinn's offers its Spider Sportsline Special – baked spaghetti with salad – for just $6.99. Flinn's is open seven days a week, including brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
The Spider Sportsline with Coach Chris Mooney will be held Dec. 2, 9, and 16, then take a two-week holiday break, returning Monday Jan. 6 and continuing every Monday for the remainder of the college basketball season.
