UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond hosts James Madison on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Robins Center.
THE LATEST
• The Spiders return home after playing three-straight games away from the New Robins Center. Richmond has won two-straight after a hard-fought loss to No. 19 ranked North Carolina during which the Spiders led for most of the first half and trailed by four with under four minutes to play. The Tarheels defeated No. 2 ranked Louisville handily the next day. The Spiders defeated Fairfield 68-47 on Sunday and picked up a true road win at Air Force 83-60 on Wednesday night.
• Senior Cedrick Lindsay will be honored before tipoff for scoring his 1,000th career point in the win over Fairfield on Sunday. The Spiders only needed 7 points from the D.C. native in that game, but he has scored in double-figures every other game this season, including 16 points in the win at Air Force. Lindsay leads the Spiders and is fourth in the Atlantic 10 at 18.3 points per game this season, including a then career-high 26 points in the win over Hofstra last Tuesday and a new career-high 29 against No. 19 UNC on Saturday. Lindsay has scored in double-figures in 17 of the last 21 games, has scored at least 19 points in 10 of the last 18 games and at least 20 points in 8 of the last 18 games. Lindsay is averaging 17.3 points per game in his last 18 contests. Lindsay is currently 41st on Richmond's all-time scoring list with 1,020 points. With 14 points on Saturday, Anthony would climb to 38th (see note on page 3).
• Junior Kendall Anthony, who had a career-high 31 vs. Air Force last year, scored 19 against the Falcons on Wednesday. He made 7 three-pointers vs. Air Force last year in the Robins Center, one three shy of Richmond's single-game record, and made 5-of-7 three pointers on Wednesday. Anthony has 144 career three-pointers, which is just 7 from trying Jermaine Bucknor for 10th on Richmond's all-time career list. Anthony is currently third on Richmond's all-time list for career three-point percentage at .413.
• Sophomore Alonzo Nelson Ododa blocked 4 shots against Air Force on Wednesday and now has 77 for his career, just 7 from tying Johnny Newman (84) for 10th on the Spiders' all-time career list for blocks.
• Richmond's sophomore big men are having a solid start to the season. Terry Allen is second on the team in scoring at 11.6 points per game after a career-high 19 on Wednesday and leads the Spiders in rebounding at 7.4 boards per game. Alonzo Nelson-Ododa is fourth on the team in scoring at 7.3 points, tied for second in rebounding at 6.1 boards per game, and third in the A-10 in blocks at 2.1 per game. Trey Davis is averaging 5.6 points and 6.1 rebounds and Deion Taylor scored 11 points vs. Minnesota.
• The Spiders are 40-6 in the last 46 non-conference home games.
