Romeo Leads Men's Golf On Day 1 At Kiawah

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Junior Austin Romeo shot an even-par 72 to lead the Richmond men's golf team in Sunday's first round of the three-day Wendy's Kiawah Classic.
Romeo for 12th and the Spiders are in 12th place out of 18 teams after carding a 13-over-par 301 on the Turtle Point Golf Course. Richmond is ahead of two Big Ten teams, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Sophomore David German is tied for 34th after shooting a 3-over 75 on Sunday. Juniors Danny Pizetoski and Colin McDade are tied for 53rd at 5-over 77 and senior Jack Wilkes is tied for 87th.
The second round of the Wendy's Kiawah Classic will be played Monday and the final round of 18 will be on Tuesday.
