Men's Basketball Plays At Northeastern On NYE

BOSTON, Mass. - The Richmond men's basketball team plays at Northeastern on New Year's Eve Tuesday at 2 p.m.
THE LATEST
• The Spiders start a four-game roadtrip with their final game of the 2013 calender year at Northeastern on New Year's Eve. Northeastern will be Richmond's fifth CAA opponent of the 2013-14 season. The Spiders are 4-0 against CAA teams this season.
• Richmond is 2-1 on the road this season and 3-2 away from the Robins Center. The Spiders' only two losses away from the Robins Center came to ACC teams Wake Forest in OT and North Carolina.
• The Spiders have not lost a game in regulation since Nov. 23, with the two losses coming in overtime to Wake Forest and Ohio. Richmond led by double-figures in both of those setbacks. The Spiders have led by 9 in their last three losses.
• Richmond has held the opposition to 61 points or less in regulation in 8-straight games and 10 of the 13 games this season.
• Cedrick Lindsay returned from missing a game with a knee sprain to average 21 points in the last two games. He scored all 19 of his points in the second half in Richmond's win over Old Dominion on Saturday and scored 23 points against Ohio on Dec. 22. Lindsay is third in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 18.7 points per game and second in the league in assists (4.8 apg) and steals (2.3 spg).
• Richmond's defense is allowing just 63.2 points per game, which ranks second in the A-10 and 31st in the nation. The Spiders lead the A-10 and are 33rd in the nation FG pct. defense (.391). Richmond is fourth in the A-10 and 17th in the nation in 3FG pct. defense (.278).
• Kendall Anthony is averaging 17.0 points and shooting 43.9 percent from three in the last 5 games, having made 18-of-41 threes. He is 25 points from scoring 1,000 for his career.
• Three Spiders have cracked all-time top-10 lists recently. Junior Kendall Anthony has 162 career three-pointers, which is tied with Ken Atkinson for ninth on Richmond's all-time career list. Senior Cedrick Lindsay is eighth at Richmond in career assists with 328. Sophomore Alonzo Nelson-Ododa is already tied for ninth with Steve Kratzer on UR's list for career blocks with 91, needing 1 block to tie Eric Poole for eighth. Nelson-Ododa has played in just 47 games, while nobody else on the Top-10 list for blocks has played in less than 100 games.
