Spiders Tied For Fifth At A-10 Championship

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The University of Richmond Spiders men's golf team began play at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday, carding an opening round score of 291 (+3) to tie for fifth after 18 holes. Charlotte leads the 13-team conference championship with a total of 278 (-10).
Continuing his strong rookie season, freshman David Germann led the way for the Spiders on the first day of the A-10 Championship. Germann carded a first round score of 71 (-1) to tie for 11th. The under-par round was the third this season for the Clayton, N.C. native.
Senior Daniel Walker and sophomore Colin McDade both got off to good starts on Friday, with each shooting rounds of 73 (+1) to tie for 18th place after 18 holes.
Finishing the first day in a tie for 25th place was senior Nick Austin, who carded a 74 (+2) on Friday. Junior Jack Wilkes is tied for 43rd with a score of 76 (+4).
The Richmond Spiders men's golf team will continue play at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday. Live stats for the event can be found at RichmondSpiders.com.
