Richmond Men's Golf Begins Play At Irish Creek

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – The University of Richmond men's golf team began play at the Irish Creek Collegiate on Saturday, carding a two-round team total of 594 (+26) to sit in 14th place. No. 47-ranked North Carolina leads the 17-team field with a score of 567 (-1).
After carding a first round score of 76 (+5), senior Daniel Walker cut an impressive 10 strokes off his total to shoot a 66 (-5) in the second round. After 36 holes, Walkers is tied for 10th place with a total of 142 (E).
Senior Nick Austin also got off to a solid start, carding rounds of 73-74 to tie for 33rd with a total of 147 (+5). Freshman David Germann is tied for 66th place after shooting a score of 153 (+11).
Freshman John David Sanderson is tied for 73rd with a score of 154 (+12), while junior Jack Wilkes is tied for 82nd with a total of 156 (+14).
The Richmond Spiders men's golf team will be back on the course tomorrow to play the third and final round of the Irish Creek Collegiate.
