CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team will begin the journey to their third-straight A-10 Championship game appearance on Wednesday when they begin play at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Tournament.
The No. 7-seeded Spiders will play host No. 2 seed Charlotte on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Live stats and free live video can be found at RichmondSpiders.com for all of Richmond's Atlantic 10 Tournament games this week.
The Spiders will begin tournament play against the host 49ers at Hayes Stadium in Charlotte on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Earlier this season, Spiders lost two of three games to the 49ers at Pitt Field in the team's first A-10 series of the year.
After dropping a close, 8-5 contest in the first game of the set, the Spiders came back to win game two, 4-3, thanks to a great effort on the mound from junior RHP Andrew Blum. In the third and final game, Richmond held a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning, but Charlotte would score the final three runs of the series to win the final contest, 6-4.
