UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Senior Courtney Rousse was named an All-American scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
The WGCA recognized 644 collegiate women's golfers with this prestigious honor. Rousse posted a 3.62 GPA to qualify for the award. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar team is one of the most competitive in all of college athletics. The minimum GPA is a 3.50.
“I'm very proud of her,” said head coach Maggie Will. “It is not easy to maintain that kind of GPA for four years and play golf at a high level. It is quite an accomplishment.”
The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major enjoyed a successful senior campaign, in which she was tabbed to the All-CAA Second team and shot a career best 71 (-1) at the Wendy's Invitational. The Holly Springs, N.C. native ended her career with a stroke average of 79.46, the sixth-best in school history.
