Spiders Maintain Fourth Place On Day Two Of Invite

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Richmond maintained fourth place for the second-straight day at the William & Mary Invite at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
Senior Lauren Conder posted a brilliant performance for the Spiders, carding a career-low 70 (-1) on the day. Conder's 1-under par moved her to fifth place overall.
“Lauren was terrific today,” said head coach Maggie. Will. “What a comeback for our senior. She battled through the first few tough holes to put together a special performance. I am so proud of our young team.”
Conder recorded four-straight birdies and had five birdies overall in her Day 2 performance. Jessica Lydia followed Conder with a 74 (+3) while Krystin Schwarze carded a 75 (+4). Conder leads Spider totals after two days with a cumulative 146 (76, 70) while Schwarze follows at 150 (75, 75).
Richmond shot a collective 296, which was seven strokes lower than yesterday. Tiara Baskerville, playing as an individual, shot a 79 in Day 2 competition.
Nine teams are competing at the William & Mary Invitational with Morehead State in first place (585, +17) through two rounds.
Richmond concludes tournament action tomorrow at 8:50 a.m.
