Wo Men's Basketball Announces Conference Schedule

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The Richmond women's basketball team announced the dates of its 2013-14 Atlantic 10 Conference schedule Thursday afternoon.
The Spiders will play 16 conference games, with eight of those contests taking place in the newly renovated Robins Center. Richmond will play four home-and-home series in the A-10's newly designed format. The Spiders will host and travel to St. Bonaventure, VCU, Fordham and George Mason.
Richmond opens A-10 play at home, hosting defending champion Saint Joseph's Jan. 2 and continues home action with Rhode Island Jan. 5.
Richmond then travels to St. Bonaventure Jan. 8 before visiting A-10 finalist Fordham Jan. 11 in the Bronx. The Spiders return to the Robins Center to host George Mason Jan. 15 at 12 p.m. for Dream Big Day before traveling to La Salle Jan. 29.
Richmond hosts Duquesne Feb. 1 for Girl Scout Sleepover night then will travel to cross-town rival VCU for a Feb. 8 tilt.
The Spiders host Fordham Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in a nationally-televised game on CBS Sports Network. Richmond then hits the road for two games, visiting NCAA participant Dayton Feb. 15 and Massachusetts Feb. 19.
Richmond returns home to host its last two games of the season in George Washington Feb. 22 followed by River City rival VCU Feb. 26 for senior day. The Spiders conclude regular season play at George Mason Mar. 1.
The A-10 recently announced its three-year partnership with the City of Richmond to bring the Women's Basketball Championship to the Richmond Coliseum.
All 13 teams will take part in the championship which will take place March 5-9. The championship will open with a play-in game on Wednesday, March 5, followed by four first-round games on Thursday. The four quarterfinal games will tip-off Friday afternoon. Game times for both Thursday and Friday are Noon, 2:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Two semifinal games will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and will air live on CBSSN, with the finals tipping off at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday live on ESPNU.
