UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team begins the 2014 season at the North Florida Tournament on February 14. Leading up the Opening Day, RichmondSpiders.com will introduce Spider fans to all 30 Richmond players with the “Meet the Spiders” series.

RS.com: Why did you choose Richmond?
Ray Harron: I chose Richmond because it gave me the opportunity to pursue my goals of becoming a physician with a great pre-health academic curriculum. Playing D-I baseball in a competitive conference was also another major reason for coming to Richmond.
RS: Three words that describe you best…
RH: Dedicated, hardworking, smart
RS: Favorite MLB team?
RH: New York Yankees
RS: Favorite MLB player of all-time?
RH: Derek Jeter
RS: What is your dream job?
RH: Cardiovascular surgeon
RS: Any pregame superstitions?
RH: I don't really have any pregame superstitions.
RS: Biggest accomplishment?
RH: My biggest accomplishment so far has been being accepted to the University of Richmond.
RS: Best piece of advice you've been given by a coach?
RH: If you're not working, someone else is.
RS: Best memory from playing little league?
RH: Winning the Virginia state tournament title in Dixie Youth Baseball.
