Reilly Leads UR At Rain-Shortened Collegiate Classic

BERKELEY HILLS, Ga. - Sophomore Mark Reilly put together a career-best performance to lead Richmond in the first two days of the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic at the Berkeley Hills Country Club outside of Atlanta, Ga.
UR sat in ninth place after the first day of action, and was looking to make a move on Tuesday, but inclement weather forced the cancellation of Tuesday's final round.
The Spiders finished ninth with an overall score of +7 (293-290=583).
Reilly, a native of Babylon, N.Y., blasted through his previous career-best round of 76 by shooting a two-under par 70 to start off on Monday. He followed that up with a 74 to finish even through two rounds. Without Tuesday's action, Reilly's E placed him tied for 19th overall, his first career top-20 finish.
Senior Austin Romeo also had a standout performance, shooting 73-72=145 for a one-over par finish. His previous best tournament finish was +3, as the Erie, Pa., native finished tied for 26th.
Top seed Danny Pizetoski finished third on the team with as he responded to an opening round of 76 with an even-par 72, finishing +4 for the tournament. David Germann rounded out the Spider scorers with a 77-72=149 to finish +5.
Freshman Matthew Lowe finished fifth on the team with a 74-76=150 (+6), while Keegan Hoff competed independently, shooting 76-77=153 (+9).
The Spiders complete the fall schedule on Nov. 2 at the Wendy's Kiawah Classic on the beautiful Turtle Point Golf Course on Kiawah Island, S.C., minutes outside of Charleston, S.C.
