Spiders Suffer First League Loss, 1-0 At GW
10/19/2014 | Women's Soccer
Richmond soccer suffered its first Atlantic 10 Conference defeat of the season, falling 1-0 in its last road game of the season at George Washington Sunday afternoon at the GW Soccer Field.
Richmond slips to 8-6-2 overall, 2-1-2 in the A-10. George Washington passed Richmond in the standings by improving to 10-3-1, 3-1-1 in conference.
“We played extremely well today,” said head coach Peter Albright.
“Our forwards and back line played well. This one was a head-scratcher in that we played winning soccer, but just didn't win. We had field position, possession and chances and lots of corners. We had to adjust to their midfield shape, but came up with shots where we wanted them.”
