Spiders Battle Conditions To Finish Fifth In Delaware

REHOBOTH BEACH, Dela. - Richmond's women's golf team battled windy conditions along the water to card its best placement of the fall, finishing fifth at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational from Rehoboth Beach Country Club.
The Spiders were led by junior Jessica Lydia who tied her season-best performance by shooting 232 (+16) and placing seventh overall. It was Lydia's second top-10 finish this season and the third of her career. Lydia's second-round score of 74 (+2) was her best round this season.
Freshman Elsa Diaz shot 238 (+22) to tie for 13th overall, while her older sister Sara Diaz was third on the team with a score of 245 (+29). The younger Diaz had the strongest third-round performance, shooting 77 on Sunday.
UR's final scorer was Kira Kuhnert who shot a 261 (+45). Alicia Regginniani was Richmond's fifth competitor, shooting 262 (+46).
The Spiders will resume play next spring as they look to position themselves for the Patriot League championships.
