UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond tennis programs, along with the women's lacrosse and swimming and diving teams paired up with the University and hosted a Trick or Treat Street event that reached out to the children of the Richmond community this past Sunday.
The Spiders, along with several student organizations, put on safe and festive Halloween activities for children in the community, passing out candy and teaching basic skills related to their sports along with a canned food drive. They helped decorate pumpkins, painted faces and led kids in games at the Westhampton Green.
The men's and women's tennis squads also hosted a team Halloween doubles tournament this past Saturday and each Spider dressed for the event in unique Halloween costumes. Katya Salas and Jacob Dunbar won the tournament for the Spiders.
Stathi Kyriakides, Caleb Troy, Alex Hahn, Emily Gitman and Dunbar - all from the tennis program - helped organize the event with the University.
