Meet Yaz…
Career aspirations: An elementary school teacher and eventually become a principal.
Three words to describe yourself: Compassionate, funny and weird.
Best or most memorable moment as a member of your Spider program: The day I announced I would sign at Richmond to my teammates in the dining hall. I received a standing ovation from them.
The best nickname on the team: "Bubbles" for Keri Soppe.
Strengths: My strength on the court is being a good back to the basket post player with good presence and creative post moves.
Toughest opponents: Our conference is a tough and yet very competitive. I am most excited to play Dayton and our crosstown rivals VCU.
Working to improve: As a player, I am always looking to improve every aspect of my game. You can never work on something too much.
Best sports memory: A great memory for me would be my sophomore year playing against Xavier at home. We as a team came back to win after behing down by 20 points.
Favorite meal: Chicken, cheese, broccoli and rice casserole.
Favorite ice cream: Rocky Road.
On your playlist: Rascal Flatts, Chris Brown, and NSYNC
Most embarrassing thing on your playlist: I am not embarrassed by any of my music... not even my Disney '90's or Justin Bieber playlist! :)
If you have one wish: I would wish for a cure for all incurable diseases especially cancer and multiple sclerosis.
What most people don't know about you: I taught myself sign language.
If you could go on any game show: Legends of the Hidden Temple.
Dream car: Black Mustang, hard top convertible with two pink racer stripes.
If you could travel anywhere in the world: Spain and Italy.
Favorite class: All of my education courses.
Pets: One dog named Cleopatra Jones Burgess III or just Cleo for short.
Hero: My family! All of them - They mean the world to me.
Favorite childhood TV show: Who Dunnit?
If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive: My Great-Great Grandmama Jones.
If you could have any superpower: Teleportation.
