Spider Spotlight: Newcomer Alexis Pringle
02/20/2014 | Women's Soccer
Incoming freshman Alexis Pringle, of Mechanicsville, Virginia will look to round out the back line for the Spiders in 2014 and is our next Spider Spotlight feature.
The local outside back for the Richmond Strikers Under-18 ECNL team and four-year Varsity starter for Atlee High School has garnered All-District, All-Region, All-Metro, and All-State honors through her high school career.
“Alexis has a determination and intensity, combined with impressive recovery speed, that make her an exceptional open field defender, and powerful force at the point of attack,” said Head Coach Peter Albright.
Through club soccer, Pringle has warranted invitations to Super Y ODP National Camp in 2010 and 2011, earning a spot on the USL Super-Y National Select All-Tournament team in 2010. She also attended Regional ODP camp in 2011.
“She loves big challenges and seems to play her best when it's all on the line,” added Albright. “I expect Alexis to help strengthen our defending unit immediately and significantly add to our team's athletic quotient and competitive mentality.”
In addition to her accomplishments on the pitch, Pringle ran track for Atlee High School and won the 300-meter district race as a sophomore.
Away from athletic competition, Pringle earned the Hanover Scholars award in 2012, and was a member of the All-Academic team from 2011-2013.
Alexis is one of nine freshmen entering their rookie season in the fall of 2014. Stay tuned for more spotlights on our other newcomers coming soon.
