PINEHURST, N.C. - Junior Danny Pizetoski is the leader in the clubhouse and the Richmond men's golf team is in sixth place after the first round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate, played Sunday at Pinehurst No. 8.
Pizetoski shot a 2-under-par 71 to take a two-shot lead entering Monday's second round at Pinehurst No. 2.
The Spiders shot a 311 and are one shot behind Marshall for fifth place. Belmont is the leader at 299.
Junior Austin Romeo carded a 6-over 77 for the Spiders. Senior Jack Wilkes shot an 81, while sophomoe John David Sanderson shot an 84 and sophomore David Germann carded an 87.
