Richmond Football Earns 17 Academic All-CAA Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders football team saw 17 student-athletes earn 2013 CAA All-Academic team honors on Monday, the league office announced.
The 17 players to earn the honor were David Broadus, Ben Edwards, Thomas Evans, Adam Farley, Terrence Fullum, Joe Gulli, Austin Gund, David Herlocker, Brandon Jordi, Joey Landess, Kyle Lauletta, Xander Maddox, Will McCombs, Jacob Pierce, Sean Ryan, Michael Strauss and Peter Yoder.
CAA Football honored 137 student-athletes on the 2013 Academic All-Conference team, with Richmond posting the third-most student-athletes on the team, behind just New Hampshire and UAlbany.
To be eligible for the CAA Football Academic All-Conference Team, a player must be a starter or important reserve and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 4.00 scale) for his entire academic career.
Transfers and first-year freshmen are eligible. Voting for the Student-Athlete of the Year award is conducted by CAA Football's 11 communications contacts, representing one vote per school.
