
Richmond Track & Field Sets Record At Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Spiders finished up competition at the Penn Relays by breaking the program record in the 4x200m relay.
The 4x200m relay comprised of Mary Allen, Deborah Fajuyigbe, Amber Young, and Janel Francis broke the program record with a time of 1:38.87, marking the second time this group has set a new record in the 4x200m relay this season.
The 4x400m relay quartet of Mary Allen, Deborah Fajuyigbe, Amber Young and Jade Gregory ran a season best time of 3:50.27.
Janel Francis also secured a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.81m.
Spider sophomore cross country standout Matt McKenna, running unattached, ran a personal best 31:07.45 to place second in the Olympic Development 10k. McKenna is coming off a fifth-place finish in the Ukrop's Avenue 10k last month, which served as the Collegiate Running Association 10k Road Race Championship.
The Spiders head to Massachusetts for the A-10 Championships on May 3-4.
