Men's Golf Sits 3 Shots Back Entering Final Round

LUTZ, Fla. – Junior Danny Pizetoski moved into second place and the Richmond men's golf team climbed within three shots of the lead on the second day of the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship, played Saturday at TPC Tampa Bay.
The Spiders are just three shots behind leader VCU entering Sunday's final round. Richmond shot the lowest team round Saturday, a 14-over-par 298, to sit comfortably in second place at 590.
VCU shot a 301 and will enter the final round at 587. Dayton and George Washington are tied for third place in the 10-team field at 607.
“We are right where we want to be,” Richmond head coach Adam Decker said. “This is what we have been practicing all year for, to win this tournament. And we are in position to do that.”
Pizetoski was in fourth after shooting an opening round 1-under-par 70 on Friday and moved up to second on Saturday after his even-par 71. He enters the final round at 1-under 141, one shot behind leader John Stauffer of St. Bonaventere.
Spider sophomore David Germann is in fifth place at 4-over 146. He shot a 77 on Saturday after a 2-under 69 in the opening round.
Junior Colin McDade shot a 3-over 74 Saturday and is tied for 12th at 8-over 150. Senior Jack Wilkes is tied for 15th at 153 (77-76) and sophomore John David Sanderson is in 35th at 160.
The Spiders begin teeing off on Sunday at 9:45 a.m., playing alongside VCU and Dayton.
