Following the end of the season, Richmond senior forward Ashley Riefner (Mechanicsville, Virginia / Atlee HS) was named the fifth-best player, regardless of position, in the Atlantic 10 Conference by Top Drawer Soccer.com at the end of October.
Riefner, who was the only player in the league to log nine goals and nine assists in 2014, led the Spiders in 2015 with both four goals and six assists for 14 points. She scored the final goal of the season, the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute to take out VCU on Senior Day in a 3-2 final. Her assists total was tied for sixth-most in the league in both total and per-game average.
She finished her career with 13 goals and 18 assists for 44 points in her 73 career games. She is tied for the team records for both goals (three) and assists (three) in a single game in her career. She also finished as Richmond's ninth all-time point scorer, as the program wrapped up its 20th season in school history.
She is currently attempting to further her playing career. Stay tuned for more details.
