Spider Baseball Hosts Tribe On Tuesday At Shepherd Stadium

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team will play host to the William & Mary Tribe on Tuesday at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights, Va. at 3 p.m.

Scouting the Spiders
The Richmond Spiders enter Tuesday's game with William & Mary with an overall record of 9-8 on the season, having won two-of-three games against George Mason this past weekend at The Diamond.
Offensively, the Spiders have been led by SS Tyler Beckwith and CF Michael Morman. Beckwith leads the team with a .373 batting average and seven doubles, while Morman has hit a team-high four home runs and driven in 22 runs already on the season. As a team, Richmond is hitting .274 as a team with 36 doubles and 20 homers.
On the mound, RHP Ryan Cook and LHP Zak Sterling have paced the Richmond pitching staff. Sterling has posted a record of 3-1 on the year with a team-low 2.70 ERA. The senior has struck out 31 batters in 33.1 innings pitched. Cook is 2-1 on the season with a 3.21 ERA .
Scouting the Tribe
The William & Mary Tribe come to Shepherd Stadium with an overall record of 10-9 on the season overall. Last weekend, the Tribe was swept at Kennesaw State in a three-game series. Before the season, W&M was tabbed to finish third in the CAA behind College of Charleston and UNCW.
As a team, the Tribe is hitting .271 as a team with 56 doubles and 18 home runs. The pitching staff has been solid, posting an ERA of 5.86 with 106 strikeouts in 164.1 innings pitched.
