First Year Spotlight: Ella Stout
03/05/2015 | Women's Soccer
Each week, the Spider Soccer squad will highlight one of the upcoming 2015 additions, recently added to the roster. Here is the complete list.
High-scoring forward Ella Stout (Minneapolis, Minnesota) is our next future Spider, joining the team this fall. Stout stars for her Minneapolis-Washburn High squad and for her club team, the Dakota Rev Rampage. The U-17 Dakota Rev team made news nationally and internationally by winning the Gothia Cup in Sweden last summer. The Gothia Cup is the top rated International Club Tournament in the world.
“Ella is a great athlete; she has exceptional speed and a big engine," said UR head coach Peter Albright. "I expect her to add quality depth to our front line, and give us more options wide and centrally. She is a very good defensive forward, has the speed to get behind defenses, and has great one-on-one potential. We expect her to make a significant contribution as a first-year player.“
Richmond returns nine starters from its 2014 lineup and brings back a pair of All-Atlantic 10 Conference forwards, a pair of A-10 All-Rookie selections and the 2014 Rookie of the Year. All but two of the 36 goals Richmond scored last year were from players returning to the roster this coming fall.
The 2015 campaign starts with a home date against Campbell on August 21.
