Lydia Leads Spider Women's Golf To 6th At ECU

Richmond women's golf moved up two spots to finish in a tie for sixth Tuesday at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, finishing at 941 (312 – 311 – 318) after 54 holes at Brook Valley Country Club, hosted by East Carolina. The Spiders finished eight strokes from fifth-place Garner-Webb but in a tie with Longwood in the 17-team field.
Spider senior Jessica Lydia (Jakarta, Indonesia) was the top Richmond golfer, finishing 13th for her second Top-20 finish in as many events this season. She was two-over par today to finish at 10 over par (78 – 74 – 74 226), up five spots form her standing at the end of round two. She posted 13 pars and two birdies in a consistent final round.
Freshman Isabella Rusher (Salisbury, North Carolina) ended at 20-over par and tied for 35th (76 – 79 – 81 236) in the 90-player field. Three strokes behind Rusher, up three spots and tied for 40th (80 – 78 – 81 239) was sophomore Elsa Diaz (San Antonio, Texas) while freshman Annie Collom (Davidson, North Carolina) was one behind her with a final-round, 12-over 82 to complete her tournament (78 – 80 – 82 240) in a tie for 43rd.
The Spiders will compete next in two weeks in Wisconsin at the Loyola Intercollegiate, October 12-13.
