FLUSHING MEADOW, N.Y. – There are only 20 men's doubles duos that will step onto the courts at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center this weekend to participate at the 2016 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
One of those duos will be wearing “Richmond” across their chests with seniors Jacob Dunbar and Alexandre Felisa becoming the first pair to reach the national tournament in the history of University of Richmond men's tennis.
Dunbar and Felisa open up play on Thursday afternoon in the opening round, taking on UC Santa Barbara's Morgan Mays and Simond Freund. First serve for the match is set for 2 p.m.
A victory would move them into the round of 16 to take on the fourth-seeded duo of Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe from Oklahoma State. That match would start at 4:45 on Friday afternoon.
