Richmond Tabbed For Inaugural Cayman Islands Classic In 2017

GRAND CAYMAN – Richmond will travel to the Cayman Islands for the 2017 Cayman Islands Classic, the tournament announced on Thursday.
The event will take place from Nov. 20-22, 2017 in George Town on the Grand Cayman Island.
Richmond will join Cincinnati, Iowa, UAB, Wyoming, Buffalo, South Dakota State and Louisiana Lafayette in the Cayman Islands next year.
The Spiders have a long history of success in early season tournaments, compiling a 13-7 record in Mooney's tenure. UR has wracked up wins over the likes of Mississippi State, Missouri, Purdue, Rutgers, California, and most recently, Boston College.
Located in the western Caribbean Sea, the Cayman Islands comprise the islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, all located south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica. Further information about the event will be released in the coming months.
