UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's tennis completed an in-state weekend sweep on Sunday evening, defeating Longwood, 7-0, at the Country Club of Virginia.
The Spiders swept through doubles action and had six straight set victories for their second straight win over an in-state opponent after beating George Mason on Friday afternoon.
“We're starting to get our timing and mental toughness back,” Head Coach Mark Wesselink said. “We need to build on this and get a couple players healthy. We're in a pretty good place right now.”
Seniors Anna Abadias Morales, Katya Salas and Emily Gitman led the way with victories on the singles and doubles courts.
Richmond is back in action next Saturday, February 13 when it travels to Navy for an 11 a.m. match-up.
