
Bailey, Hanley and Corbosiero Take First At FH Day One

RICHMOND, Va. - The first day of the 11th annual Fred Hardy Invitational saw five field events and nine track events take place for the men and women. The University of Richmond took three individual first place finishes in the 3000 meter steeplechase, 1500 meter and 5,000 meter races.
The first event of the day ended in Spider success. Senior Kelly Bailey finished in first place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:09.47. Finishing in third was Emma Nowak, who on the last 100 meters was able to move into third place by one tenth of a second.
In the women's 5000 meter race, senior Tara Hanley finished in first place, with a time of 17:53.77. Finishing in third was fellow Spider Ave Grosenheider finished in 18:22.12.
The 1500 meter race saw the Spiders dominate and take all top three spots with sophomore Amanda Corbosiero finishing in first (4:27.16) and senior Taylor Clevinger right behind her in second place (4:30.92). In third place was Haley Preschutti who was the third Spider and third finisher to cross the line with a time of 4:35.37.
In the pole vault, Sarah Timko finished with a 3.35 meter clearance.
Tomorrow's events will start at 10:00 a.m. with the discus throw and the long jump. The first track event will start at 11:00 a.m. with the 100M hurdles.
