Lowe Sets School Record At Wolfpack Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. - Richmond sophomore Matthew Lowe set a new school record with his round of 63 (-8) in the Wolfpack Invitational at Lonnie Poole Golf Course this weekend.
Lowe finished with a scorecard of 75-63-70=208 (-5) to tie for fifth overall at the tournament. He tallied his third under-par tournament of the season, and now has nine under-par rounds. His final 54-hole score of -5 ties for 10th all-time in the Richmond record books.
The other three scoring Spiders all finished within a stroke of each other, led by David Germann's tournament of 73-76-75 (+11).
John David Sanderson set a new career low on Sunday with his final round of 72. He finished up at 77-76-72=225 (+12). Keegan Hoff was just one stroke behind him with 75-75-76=226 (+13).
UR's Mark Reilly shot 77-75-79=231 (+18) and Ben Wanichek competed as an individual for a score of 73-75-82=230 (+17).
The Spiders placed ninth as a team, just seven strokes behind A-10 leader VCU, and ahead of Davidson and George Mason.
Richmond now looks toward the Atlantic 10 Tournament which begins on April 29 at the Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Fla.
